Fancy Food Show Exhibitors
Turn to TRGI

The Summer Fancy Food Show is the largest specialty food and beverage trade event in North America. With the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements recently imposed by the FDA, three German food companies that were seeking to exhibit at this trade show, engaged the services of The Radius Group (TRGI) to act as FSVP Importer in accordance with the latest rulings regarding the Food Safety Modernization Act.

Food Types

  • Flavored cheesecakes (strawberry, apple, coconut, chocolate)
  • Organic fruits and jellies (with lingonberries, blueberries, chanterelles)
  • Organic pasta in assorted shapes

TRGI provided FDA facility registration for these companies to begin the import process into the United States. The process began approximately 45 days prior to the start of this trade show to comply with the ruling requiring all foreign food suppliers to appoint a U.S.-based FSVP Importer to verify that the imported food is produced safely, in accordance with U.S. standards. The exhibitors demonstrated diligence in providing the necessary documentation to receive approval for importation into the U.S., including detailed flow charts of their Food Safety Plans, resumes of Food Safety personnel, and thorough identification of ingredients for proper labeling of their products.

TRGI also provided other services to foreign exhibitors at the Summer Fancy Food Show, including:

  • Verifying that FDA facilities registrations were current for other exhibiting companies
  • Providing detailed FSVP application agreements and hazard analysis for other German food suppliers
