Join The Safe Food Network
The food safety industry is vital to America’s health. The FDA mandates comprehensive, prevention-based controls across the nation’s food supply. Last year the FDA began enforcement of its food safety verification regulations to ensure that imported food is produced using processes and procedures in accordance with U.S. public health protection standards. Approximately 20% of the U.S. food supply is imported, with millions of food products coming into the U.S. from other countries each year. As Americans seek greater variety in their food choices, many international foods are first presented at specialty food trade shows in this country. Our newly formed association, Safe Food Network Trade Shows and Retail Supply Chains, unites the companies engaged in all facets of food safety to bring imported products to America’s shows and shelves.
Our members are at the forefront of the food safety process for foreign suppliers, verifying that foreign food facilities meet the U.S. food safety requirements for entry into America. Our members are companies that support producers with international and domestic food safety training as they distribute their foods through the retail supply chain. We’re an international association of companies with expertise in such areas as: the FDA’s foreign supplier verification procedure (FSVP); importer verification; Customs brokerage; freight forwarding (from the factory to the trade show exhibit floor or customer warehouse); food safety training; building brand recognition and customer interaction; risk assessment; procurement of food processing industry personnel; research from both academia and consulting firms; food label and trademark review; and entry into the Fancy Food Shows, North America’s largest specialty food trade shows.
The benefits of our network are two-fold: members can work collectively to ensure a seamless food safety process for foreign and domestic producers seeking to exhibit and distribute food. We also serve as a worldwide forum to exchange safe food information.
In this newsletter we’ll publish information about the regulatory compliance matters behind successful food trade show exhibitions in North America, and the subsequent distribution of safe food throughout the retail supply chain. We will also cover insights about brand recognition. In addition to our membership, this newsletter reaches food trade show sponsors, country food show pavilion managers in over 40 countries, their food and beverage trade show exhibitors and foreign government export agencies. Our content will also include educational articles to help these companies and agencies plan their export initiatives into North America. Thank you for being among our first readers!
